Conference: Stewart will provide an update on Retail Ready Packaging developments globally, including taking a look at what is behind the interest in RRP in North America, the key drivers for success from a retailer perspective and the opportunities, challenges and implications for manufacturers. Stewart Samuel: Stewart joined IGD, the international food and grocery experts in 2005, initially working in the UK before transferring to Vancouver in Canada in 2009. His role focuses on developing relationships with manufacturers and retailers to better understand the industry challenges and opportunities in the North American market. Regularly conducting primary research with manufacturers in the market, Stewart has also forged close relationships with many leading retailers. He undertakes regular market visits across North America, tracking the latest format, private label, packaging and digital engagement strategies.
Stewart also contributes to IGD’s global supply chain research program, with Retail Ready Packaging being a key focus, including authoring our Global Retail Ready Packaging report and facilitating a number of in-store packaging workshops for retailers and suppliers.

His academic background (engineer in 1997 and MBA in 1999), his business intuition and leadership enabled him to capture the needs of customers and team for the success of their projects. After over 100 successful projects, Mr. Rabbath leads a team of technicians and engineers who deal with several industry leaders for projects in food and packaging productivity. These projects range from a simple modification to layout to complete lines of several million dollars.

Among these contributions locally, Mr. Rabbath developed the food packaging guide (thanks to the CTAC and FDTA), and is a member of CTAC since 2002, he also sits on the advisory council of ITEGA (Institute linked to the College de Maisonneuve for development in packaging), and serves on the expert committee of EEQ for reducing packaging.
